History

Zaman Sports was established in 1995 by Mr. Muhammad Zamaan Soraya, a civil engineer who had been working in the football manufacturing industry for several years. His passion for the game and deep technical knowledge motivated him to establish a modern football manufacturing company.

The early years were challenging. With a workforce of 50 employees, Zaman Sports faced intense competition in the global market. Beginning with a modest production capacity of 1,200 footballs per month, Mr. Soraya steadily expanded operations and built strong relationships with international buyers. In 1998, Zaman Sports earned the confidence of one of the world’s largest sports brands, adidas.

Until 2006, most of the production processes for hand-stitched footballs were carried out manually. Recognizing the need for efficiency and waste reduction, Mr. Soraya implemented Lean Manufacturing principles, which significantly improved productivity and quality. As a result, Zaman Sports received the “Best Lean Manufacturing System Award” from adidas.

The year 2007 marked a major transformation for Zaman Sports with the mechanization of several manufacturing processes. With the support of local and international consultants, advanced machinery was introduced, including automatic lamination machines, high-capacity cutting machines producing over 200 pieces per stroke, and seven automatic multi-color printing machines.

In 2010, after extensive research and development, Zaman Sports successfully developed thermal bonding technology to locally manufacture 32-panel thermal-bonded footballs.

By 2011, a dedicated assembly line for thermal-bonded footballs was established, enabling mass production. During the same year, Zaman Sports began receiving initial orders for Official Match thermal-bonded footballs from adidas.

Through continuous improvements and gradual mechanization of hand-stitched football production, Zaman Sports expanded its capacity significantly. By 2012, the company reached a production capacity of 700,000 hand-stitched footballs per month, becoming the world’s largest hand-stitched football manufacturer.

In 2013, Zaman Sports achieved a major international milestone by securing the contract to produce the Official Match Ball for the UEFA Champions League 2014. From 2012 to 2018, the company consistently manufactured official match and competition-level thermal-bonded footballs for adidas.

In 2018, Zaman Sports was honored with the contract to manufacture the Official Match Ball for the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Today, Zaman Sports produces three types of soccer balls—Hand-Stitched, Thermal-Bonded, and Machine-Stitched—with a combined production capacity of 750,000 balls per month. Due to its outstanding export performance, the company received the FPCCI Best Export Performance Award consecutively for several years.

In addition to soccer balls, Zaman Sports has diversified its product range to include beach balls, handballs, medicine balls, indoor balls, sports bags, shin guards, and goalkeeping gloves.

Through continuous innovation, technological advancement, and a strong commitment to quality, Zaman Sports has established itself as a unique and trusted manufacturer in the international sports industry.
